The Pencil Box was thrilled to be one of only four centers from across the country qualifying to receive a special paper distribution due to our student participation in the "Call to Canvas" contest sponsored by Georgia-Pacific and the Kids In Need Foundation. Ninety-two Tulsa teachers enjoyed an afternoon of school supply shopping at The Pencil Box on Tuesday, August 28. Participating teachers received 342 reams of copy paper and 200 reams of card stock valued at $3,560 (retail) from Georgia Pacific, as well as $22,822 (retail) worth of varied school supplies from The Pencil Box, for a total retail value of $26,383. And to celebrate, each teacher received a custard sandwich donated by Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers Tulsa, OK, E 71st St. This year's grand total of back-to-school supplies given by The Pencil Box to students in 45 of Tulsa's neediest schools was $202,064. Donate today to help us reach all 72 eligible public schools in Tulsa County by 2020.
Our submission from a student at Memorial High School came in second place nationally at the second annual Georgia-Pacific "Call to Canvas" art contest!
